Dear Ms. ******,
I have been reading Ryan's status and I have to say that you are very misinformed. Let me go through step by step:
1. Jill's opinion: "Obama is worthless" Truth: Obama ran a much leaner more compelling campaign than McCain, verified by the fact that he won. You provide no proof for your statement or reasons for his worthlessness. You also cannot judge how well Obama or McCain can do a job before they begin doing it.
2. Jill's opinion: "Obama is best friends with all of our enemies" Truth: I am pretty sure that Obama doesn't have Osama bin Laden's cell phone number. He has said that he will meet with the leaders of the countries that Bush called the "axis of evil", but that is not harmful to anyone. It is the decisions that come from these meetings that could be good or bad for our country.
3. Jill's opinion: "If enemies don't fear us as a threat we are f***ed" Truth: I am pretty sure that the US is and will still be a threat to any country that could possibly threaten us, not to mention terrorists. We spend 48% of all world spending on the military. If we cut military spending in half, we still would spend more than the entire European Union (our closest spending competitor) on military expenses. This amount is probably thousands of times higher than any terrorist group could possibly spend. The safety of the country can never be assured, but you are far more likely to be in a car crash than to be killed by terrorists, so try not to worry about it too much, our security services are doing their best.
4. Jill's opinion: "Obama wants to spread the wealth and this is bad." Truth: Obama's tax plan aims to add more taxes to the very rich (make $200,000+ per year) and drop taxes for everyone that makes less than that. More info at http://taxcut.barackobama.com/ . Also, if you would bother to learn about economics, you would find that current republican policies have polarized the rich and poor. Obama's policies would try to encourage greater mobility for the lower classes. In the end, I doubt that you earn more than $200k or are likely to anytime soon (and if you do, you can probably afford some taxes), so this is a moot point.
5. Jill's opinion: "We shouldn't let other countries walk all over us." Truth: Another country has not attacked the United States in our territories since World War II. The September 11 attacks were perpetrated by terrorists, or a group of people (not from any one country) who wanted to create terror in the U.S. It could be seen that we have walked all over Afghanistan and Iraq with very little or no provocation and I am sure that we have shown the rest of the world that we are quite capable of walking over pretty much anyone. Personally I would rather that we don't need to do that again anytime soon.
6. Jill's opinion: "Iraq attacked the U.S." Truth: Iraq has never attacked the United States, ever. We launched a preemptive strike into Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein and secure any Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. Please wake up from your alternate reality. Enough said.
7. Jill's opinion: "The middle-eastern countries are all scheming with Barack Obama against the United States." Truth: While many of their opinions may differ from ours, the people of the Middle East are just people like you and I. Many of them dislike and distrust the U.S. mainly due to its support of Israel, but are willing to work with us towards security for the Middle East and the world. Due to his foreign affairs experience, I would believe that John McCain actually has closer ties to the Middle-Eastern countries than Obama. I would hope that those countries will scheme with Obama FOR the benefit of the United States and Muslims worldwide.
8. Jill's opinion: "People enlist in the army because they believe there are good reasons for the war." Truth: Many young people join the armed forces for the same reason that they have joined the armed forces for years: mobility. 9. Jill's opinion: "Barack Obama isn't from America." Truth: I presume this to mean that Obama wasn't born in America. This is simply solved by the fact that you can see his Hawaii birth certificate online: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html .
